Membership is easy, we are a simple club with a few simple rules and a set of By-Laws that will help to maintain the club in the direction that it was intended. We, the four founding members of the club, formed this organization due to some misunderstandings within another club we all belonged to and would truly hate to see this club head in the same direction. Or fall apart due to different goals between members.
Yearly Membership - $ 20.00 for your entire family -- there are NO individual membership dues for multiple members of the family. Astronomy is great fun & can be a family hobby.
Email Accounts will be provided for you and your family members at no charge. However, your present internet connection must be used to send mail, as our server only has provisions for receiving of mail.
You must be sponsored by a current member of AAOBC to gain membership.
Participation ! No one can make anyone attend meeting or events, but to be an officer in the club, you must attend 70% of the meetings -- As per the club By-Laws. This is for one simple reason - in order to operate as a group or club, communication and participation is needed.
What do you need to become a member........ interest ! Just the interest of Astronomy is enough for starters. If you have a telescope or binoculars, even better. If you are planning on purchasing a telescope, we may be able to help steer you in the direction that you need to go as far as your first purchase. The ole saying goes, you learn from your mistakes........ but what people don't always tell you, you can learn from OTHER PEOPLES mistakes as well.
